Janet's Classes

Learn to explore the vibrant, versatile medium of pastels. This enjoyable class will help you understand values, color harmonies and composition in order to do effective, expressive painting. Students of all experience levels are welcome, though some previous drawing experience is recommended. We will experiment with a variety of techniques (such as cross-hatching, layering color and "underwashes") as well as exploring different the paper surfaces made for pastel.
Janet will begin each class with a demonstration and then students will work from their own photo/reference material. Much individual attention will be given as well as helpful critiques.

Mt. Vernon, WA: Thursdays 12-3 pm January 12, 19 & 26 and February 9 & 16 at Dakota Art Store 17873 State Route 536 Mt. Vernon, WA 98273 Cost: $28 per class, $55 for two classes, $108 for 4 classes, $135 for 5 classes. Payment is due on the first day of class.
